When it comes to CPD at LKT, we believe that our CPD activities, carefully devised by and designed for our own in-house team members, are a vital accompaniment to the work that we do. But we don’t believe that the insights we gain from these activities should exist in their own in-house silo – especially because our team also relies on a trusted pool of external team members.

The cornerstone of our CPD activities here at LKT is our LK Team Days, in which our team members give presentations and lead exercises on a number of different subjects that are useful for translation in general and for the specific industries in which we work. In our daily work, we also tell each other about interesting and useful resources we have come across, plus tips on things like getting the most out of CAT tools. We wanted to make sure that the resources and tips we have gathered over the years – from both our dedicated CPD days and our work in-house – was available in a one-stop location and beyond the borders of our in-house team.

With that in mind, we have created a special store for external team members who are currently working with us: this contains a stock of materials categorised into different subjects that we hope our partners will find to be useful sources of reference. The directory currently contains four areas of focus: CAT tools, soft skills, writing and style, and subject-specific knowledge. We intend to add more to the content over time as our stock of CPD materials develops.
