Now that the summer is becoming a distant memory and the last quarter of the calendar year is here, we’re mindful that our annual ISO audits are just around the corner, and we’ve been reflecting on the value our ISO 9001 and 17100 certifications add to LKT both internally and externally – here’s an overview of how they’ve shaped our organisation.

Certification demonstrates our dedication to quality and shows that we have the necessary robust systems in place to meet our commitments – and in the process of achieving this, we’ve been grateful to have the support and assistance of the Association of Translation Companies‘ Certification Service.

Clients

ISO standards prescribe an understanding of client needs and the delivery of consistent quality. Better process control and quality assurance reduce (and hopefully eliminate) errors and time spent on rework.

Suppliers

ISO certification requires clear communication about project scope and expectations, so freelance partners can always be sure of having the information they need. It demonstrates a commitment to meeting and exceeding requirements, encouraging skilled professional linguists to work with us.

In-house LKTeam

The requirements of ISO standards encourage regular review and refinement of our processes. They ensure that all workflows run smoothly at all stages, from project preparation onwards. Clearly defined roles, responsibilities and processes improve morale and clarify accountability.

Overarching benefits

ISO standards require documented procedures and continuous improvement, leading to more efficient and consistent operations. Certification by an independent body is a sign of reliability and professionalism; it demonstrates a commitment to industry best practices. ISO is internationally recognised, which is especially valuable for companies operating across borders.

Here’s what the ATC’s own Certification Service has said:
“It’s always a delight to find the ways in which the LKT service manages to meet the requirements of ISO 9001:2015: they demonstrate a conforming system that was not slavishly established from a reading of the standard but developed over the years to meet the organisation’s quality needs.”
